Learning through connections across subjects, context and passions
In Key Stage 2 we provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. A thematic approach is adopted in order to develop learning through connections across subjects, context and the pupils’ passions. The emphasis of our curriculum is to develop critically thinking students who can apply and transfer their skills to solve problems. The aim is to prepare children for their future in an ever-changing world. At the core of the curriculum is our Positive Education ethos which runs through everything that we do. Children are encouraged to recognise and develop their own character strengths as well as those of others. Children are empathetic towards others and have a real self-awareness. Subsequently, students are not afraid to challenge themselves due to a fear of failure. In actual fact our students relish in overcoming challenges and stepping out of the ‘learning pit’, using and applying the new skills that they have learned.
Through making cross-curricular links and encouraging pupils to make their own real life connections, pupils are highly engaged, motivated learners. We use a range of technologies to support learning in the classroom and use multi-smart learning strategies to meet the variety of learning styles of our pupils. Students are able to use the resources provided by teachers on One Note, to be independent learners who can find things out for themselves.
As well as learning in the classroom, at Regent we believe it is our role to support the development of the whole child. We provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities to suit all interests, including sports, performing arts, computing and art.
Regent is an outstanding school
and provides an outstanding quality of education for pupils from three to 11 years
Very strong Curriculum with rich learning opportunities
that has an impact on the child's progress.
We learn to sing and to use our voices, to create and compose music.
We even have the opportunity to learn how to play different musical instruments. Our music teachers are very talented. They even taught some of us how to floss.
With an amazing senior leadership team and experienced educators,
a Regent education is interactive and collaborative – they truly make primary school a memorable experience.
My school feels like home.
I love coming to school every day.
Possibilities seem infinite at Regent.
There are no limits in my child’s imagination about what he can do. Children are encouraged to take chances, try anything and not be afraid.
The strong sense of community makes Regent more than just a great place for study,
it’s a great place to socialise and make new friends.
Regent has given my daughter a new start.
This school has encouraged her to gain confidence and to express herself despite mistakes. The teachers are always available to help and laugh with her.
