Music enriches our school community
At RIS, we believe that performing arts are an essential part of a well-rounded, high-end curriculum, spreading creativity and encouraging young people to be inquisitive, disciplined and determined.
The Music curriculum at RIS aims to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to communicate effectively as musicians through the use of a variety of instruments, styles and approaches to performing and composing. Our main aim is to encourage pupils to engage with and participate in collaborative music making, allowing the development of their performing, composing, listening and appraisal skills. Through critical engagement with music, students develop their creativity, self-confidence, and their sense of achievement.
The Drama curriculum at RIS aims to develop skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, all of which are important workplace skills that our students will need. Students will learn to express themselves creatively and imaginatively and to communicate with others confidently and effectively. They will explore their creativity through a variety of styles, themes and topics. Students will become confident and independent thinkers, who are able to critically analyse the roles within theatre and live productions. They will participate in an engaging, practical curriculum, that supports the development of new acting skills, as well as nurturing existing talent.
The Dance curriculum at RIS aims to provide opportunities for students to experience and develop their knowledge, skills and experience of Dance alongside nurturing their ability to become independent, creative and confident young people. Students will work imaginatively and creatively in collaborative contexts, generating, developing and communicating ideas. Through original themes of work, students will develop the skills required to perform, evaluate and refine dance performance and choreography. Opportunities will be provided for students to gain artistic skills and discipline, as well as developing their ability in physical interaction, team working, problem-solving, observing, evaluating, verbal and non-verbal communication.
Students are given multiple opportunities to nurture and develop their skills of performance through school musicals, assembly performances and the celebration of creativity festivals.
Regent is an outstanding school
and provides an outstanding quality of education for pupils from three to 11 years
Very strong Curriculum with rich learning opportunities
that has an impact on the child's progress.
We learn to sing and to use our voices, to create and compose music.
We even have the opportunity to learn how to play different musical instruments. Our music teachers are very talented. They even taught some of us how to floss.
With an amazing senior leadership team and experienced educators,
a Regent education is interactive and collaborative – they truly make primary school a memorable experience.
My school feels like home.
I love coming to school every day.
Possibilities seem infinite at Regent.
There are no limits in my child’s imagination about what he can do. Children are encouraged to take chances, try anything and not be afraid.
The strong sense of community makes Regent more than just a great place for study,
it’s a great place to socialise and make new friends.
Regent has given my daughter a new start.
This school has encouraged her to gain confidence and to express herself despite mistakes. The teachers are always available to help and laugh with her.
